go in with it a bit dirty, your scalp will thank you. Not too much, but maybe a day or 2 since your last wash. lightening hair takes stronger chemicals, which can irritate your scalp, so having a layer of oil will act as a barrier, also it protects your hair from these harsh chemicals. tell the stylist you'll know your hair will be a bit dry after this color change, so get them to reccomend some products. I dont know what products they'll use or the technique, so i cant suggest products, as bleach needs different aftercare then a highlift blonde color, as do lots of highlights compared to an allover color. Also your hairtype greatly changes the products needed, and i cant tell you without knowing or seeing/feeling your hair. wear a junkie shirt, preferably one that buttons up. NO TURTLENECKS OR HIGH COLLARS! They may accidentilly bleach your collar even with a regular shirt, so wear a yucky one that doesnt matter if it gets bleached, just in case. The buttons are so you dont have to pull it over your head and mess up your new hair to change into some sexy clothes to go out on the town. so remember, dirty hair, ask about products, and a yucky shirt. You may want to deep condition a few times before if your hair isnt really healthy, but isnt necesarry if its in good shape. Happy hair coloring!

That can cause your hair roots to become weak. I would be careful if I were you. Don't make it too light if you want to dye it.

don't do it while you're on your period, cuz it might frizz up a little, or get a little wavish.

Be careful of what you do and the degree of light. One thing I laugh at when I see it is a 'bottle' blonde. The look like they fell into a bottle of peroxide and couldn't get out. The hair is entirely too light for the skin tone and eye brows. A 'dirty' blond is much harder to tell and looks much better in most cases.

Well, if I were you i would dye it a dirty blonde because going from brown to bright blonde can be a big change and not look right.

The lighter you get it dyed, the more damaged your hair will be. If you decide to do bright blonde, condition it on a regular basis to add back moisture to your hair.
