Tips for perfect spiral curls on fine, straight hair?

I have been trying to curl my hair (spiral curls) and it never comes out right or stays intact. I have fine, straight hair which is part of the problem. The hairspray I use never seems to hold up for very long. I would love any suggestions you have that would help me. Anything from good products to put on before or after to suggestions on how to section my hair while curling. Thanks!

I have fine straight hair that does not want to hold a curl ever. I have found that the best way to get spiral curls is to take an old shirt that you do not want any more, cut it into in inch think by 5 inch long pieces. Take the pieces of cloth and roll it in your hair like you would a roller, then sleep on it. Your hair will come out really curly but it will calm down after a few hours. what ever you do. Don't brush your hair like that.

well i have like stick straight hair that is very hard to curl. but when it does curl, it stays pretty well especialy if i scrunch it after like an hour or two.

i use a 3/4"-1" cheap curler

each section of curled hair is like a little less than an inch

you dont wanna curl it too close to the scalp, or else your hair will look poofy sorta, too curly that way. also, if hair doesnt stay curled, then you either need higher heat, or less hair at a time. you can also try putting in mousse before curling to help it hold

Its kinda hard to curl straight fine hair. You should leave the hair in the curler for a while (not to long)....it might work then.If it doesn't work then then maybe you should go and get it done. It would work if someone else does it.
